Murakoze! (Thank you!) Due to the previous year's SALTers being at MCC for their wrap-up, I had to wait a few extra days for my support-raising update. However, it was worth the wait to see the email I got today saying I had reached my goal - even exceeded it by almost $1000! There was $5,530.80 donated in my name, and I am EXTREMELY grateful! (You all missed a really big smile and cheer on my end when I saw that number!)
If anyone still wants to give, I have to pay for my luggage, visa and ESL "curriculum" resources myself. I could also suggest (or purchase) items for Mwana Nshuti's vocational training with your money, if you are interested.
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. -1 Peter 4:10-11
Hey Bethany! So excited that things are coming together for your trip! We'll be thinking of you and praying for you! Missed having you here with the Messiah team this year, though.:) But had a good time with those who did come. When you're in Kigali, see if you can look up Bruno and Kathleen Soucy. They are Canadian missionaries (from New Brunswick) with Canadian Baptist Mission that we met several years ago in Toronto at a PLANTS language learning methods class. If you run across them, say hi from us!
